چکیده
Introduction: Bioremediation has been shown to be an effective strategy for removing toxic pollutants from the environment, particularly organic chemicals such as petroleum hydrocarbons. This paper investigates changes in toxicity of petroleum-contaminated soil a result microbial remediation processes. Methods: Changes ecotoxicity contaminated were examined using plant, earthworm, enzyme activity and luminescent bacteria tests. Results: The results showed that bioremediation could effectively degrade hydrocarbon (C 10 –C 40 ) pollutants. After 42 days remediation, content Group A (bioaugmented polluted wetland soil) decreased 1.66 g/kg 1.00 g/kg, degradation rate was 40.6%. B farmland 4.00 1.94 51.6%. During progress, ecological first increased then decreased. photosynthetic pigment index higher plant test, earthworm survival catalase all good agreement with relative luminescence extracted DCM/DMSO bacterial test. significantly after remediation. Specifically, wheat inhibited during whole process (remediation days), minimum on day 21. 7-day 14-day earthworms gradually process, increased, at end than beginning. Soil negatively correlated (−0.988, −0.989). reached maximum 21st luminosity dichloromethane/dimethyl sulfoxide extracts 26.3% 16.3%, respectively. Conclusion: Wheat content, rate, can better indicate process.

Aerobic Degradation of 3-Chlorobenzoic Acid by Bacterial Strains Isolated from Petroleum Polluted Soils
Five bacterial isolates were isolated from soils polluted with petroleum waste deposition from Cairo Oil Refining Company, Al-Qalyubia, Egypt. These isolates were grown on five concentrations (20, 100, 500, 1000, 2000μM) of 3-chlorobenzoic acid (3-CBA) as a sole carbon and energy source. The abilities of these isolates to degrade this chloroaromatic compounds have been investigated. The growth ...
متن کاملBacterial diversity impacts as a result of combined sewer overflow in a polluted waterway
Newtown Creek is an industrial waterway and former tidal wetland in New York City. It is one of the most polluted water bodies in the United States and was designated as a superfund site in 2010. For over a century, organic compounds, heavy metals, and other forms of industrial pollution have disrupted the creek’s environment. The creek is also impacted by discharges from twenty combined sewer ...
متن کاملSoil Washing for Remediation of Non Volatile Hydrocarbon Polluted Soils
This paper illustrates the possibilities of applying what is essentially a physical soil-washing technique for treatment of soil contaminated by semi-volatile hydrocarbons in order to reduce the level of pollution to that permitted by Italian regulations. The ground around a factory producing lubricating-oil additives consists of silty-sandy soils, which have long been contaminated by heavy hyd...
متن کاملPersulfate Oxidation for the Remediation of Petroleum Hydrocarbon-Contaminated Soils
The feasibility of total petroleum hydrocarbon-contaminated (TPH) soil remediation was studied using persulfate oxidation. Factors tested included type of activator, persulfate concentration, number of persulfate applications, and reaction time. Probe chemicals were used to study effi ciency of the persulfate oxidation mechanism. The best activation method used Fe2+, which achieved 40.8% TPH de...
